Thank you for observing our policies and helping us to keep Rhapsody Hill Farm a safe place for our clients, staff, and animals.

Please Observe the Following:

Safety Rules

  • Smoking is NOT allowed anywhere on the property.

  • Please park in the barn driveway in an orderly fashion and do not block the mailbox, garage doors, or the path in and out of the driveway. Please inform anyone who may drop your child at the barn of these policies.

  • Please leave your dog at home or in your car.

  • If you walk through a door or gate that is closed, always close them behind you.

  • Children must be supervised at all times; it is dangerous for them to climb fences or bins, run around the barn, paddock or ring. The barn driveway is not a play area. The electric fences are ON and the shock will sting!

  • All riders MUST wear an SEI/ASTM Bell approved helmet and a boot with a one inch heel while mounted. Hair must be tied back and off the face completely. No gum. No loose jewelry. No sneakers. Please dress appropriately for the weather. You can not be an effective rider if your hands and feet are cold and it becomes unsafe. Be sure to bring water with you to stay hydrated!

  • Students/parents may only enter the turnout area with permission – students under twelve may catch horses only with instructor’s attention and permission or help from an older student.

  • The viewing area for parents and siblings is in the ring, on the bleachers, NOT in the paddock. Please do not allow children to play in the sand in the ring as they may get hurt or spook a horse.

  • Walk and move quietly around the farm and the animals – please do not open any animal enclosures without permission. Do NOT walk behind the horses. Please do not chase the cats or chickens.

  • The hay loft is not a safe play area and is for authorized personnel only.

  • Be sure to curry/groom all sweat marks from your horse. This includes underbelly and legs.

  • Please ask permission to feed the animals a treat and an RHF staff member will help you.

  • The house and yard are our family’s personal space, not business areas so we thank you to respect those boundaries.

Policies

  • Payment is due at the time of services and 24-Hour Notice is required for cancellation. There will be no makeups for lessons cancelled without 24-hour notice.  Tuition payment with the discounted rate is due before the 5th of the month. After the 5th of the month, a $25 late fee must be paid before lessons will commence.

  • There are no refunds. Lessons may be made up when convenient for rider and instructor. You may transfer unused lessons to a family member.

  • Riders should arrive fifteen minutes before a lesson to groom and tack up his/her horse and plan to stay fifteen minutes afterwards to untack, groom, pick up manure left by your horse in the stall or aisle, and put equipment away. If you arrive late, you will miss part of your lesson. You should be READY TO RIDE at your lesson time, NOT arriving at that time.
